ALVIN'S MEAT LOAF 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork or sausage
1/2 med. onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 c. milk
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. red wine
1/2 tsp. thyme
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 eggs, unbeaten

Mix bread crumbs, onion, bell pepper and meat. Set aside. Put all other ingredients into blender and mix thoroughly. Add to meat mixture and mix lightly. (You may want to divide this into 2 portions). Place in pan sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes.

SAUCE:

1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c. ketchup
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Cover and blend for a few seconds. Set mixture aside. After 20 minutes of baking time, spoon 3/4 of the blended mixture over the loaf and continue baking 20 minutes longer. Then put the remainder of mixture over the loaf and cook another 10 minutes. Freezes well.

Serves 8. For variety, add 1 cup grated raw carrots or 1 cup wild rice to the meat mixture.
