CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. white sugar
5 eggs
3 c. sifted cake flour
4 tbsp. (heaping) cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk

Cream butter and shortening; add sugar. Gradually add eggs. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and vanilla; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.

Bake in tube pan at 325°F for 1 hour. Add chocolate glaze if desired.
