CRANBERRY NUT BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. orange peel, grated
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening. Combine peel, juice and egg. Add to dry ingredients, mixing just to moisten. Fold in cranberries and nuts. Turn into greased, lightly floured pan 9 x 5 x 3 inches. Bake at 350 degrees 60 minutes. Cool. Wrap and store overnight.
