SCALLOPED ASPARAGUS 
3 c. cut asparagus
1 1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. grated cheese
1 c. bread crumbs

Cut asparagus into small pieces and steam until tender in a little water. Thicken milk with flour; add salt, pepper and butter. Add grated cheese and cooked asparagus to milk mixture. Arrange in alternating layers with bread crumbs in an oiled baking dish.

Bake 20 minutes at 350°F or until cheese is melted and dish heated through.
