CRANBERRY ORANGE BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening (butter is fine)
1 tsp. grated orange rind
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg
1 c. fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Cut in shortening. Beat together orange rind, orange juice and egg. Mix into dry ingredients. Just to blend. Stir in cranberries and walnuts. Pour into greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely. Makes one loaf. Freezes well.
