1 1/2 tsp. unflavored gelatin 2 tbsp. water 2 c. tomato or V-8 juice 2 tbsp. vinegar 1/4 tsp. onion powder 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 tbsp. salad oil Salt to taste In medium saucepan, soften gelatin in water; heat to dissolve the gelatin. Stir in remaining ingredients; refrigerate until serving time. When ready to serve stir, until smooth. Makes 2 1/2 cups. Calories: 1 tablespoon = 9 calories. Fat Controlled Diet: 1 tablespoon = 1 gram fat. Diabetic and Calorie Controlled Diet: 1 tablespoon = free choice. Sodium Controlled diet: Prepared with low sodium tomato or V-8 juice, and omitting salt, 1 tablespoon = negligible sodium. Prepared with regular tomato juice, and omitting salt, 1 tablespoon = 26 milligrams sodium. Prepared with regular V-8 juice, and omitting salt, 1 tablespoon = 40 milligrams sodium. |
