PUNCH BOWL CAKE 
Bake one butter cake mix in two round pans. When finished, slice each layer through the middle so you will have four layers.

Other ingredients needed:

1 can pecans
1 lg. can crushed pineapple
1 can cherry pie filling
1 lg. box vanilla instant pudding mix

Mix pudding according to directions on the box.

Lay one layer at a time in the punch bowl. Between each layer, add some of each ingredient. When finished, top with as much Cool Whip as desired. Decorate with nuts, cherries or whatever you desire. (Also, other ingredients can be added to go between the layers, such as chocolate chips.)
