BROWNED BUTTER CRUNCH CAKE | |
1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped finely 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar, packed 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 c. milk 1 tbsp. sugar Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 10-inch tube pan with Baker's Joy. Coat pan evenly with 2/3 cup of nuts; sprinkle nuts with 1 tablespoon sugar. Set aside. In a small saucepan, melt butter, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. In large bowl, combine browned butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and soda. Add to butter mixture alternately with milk. Pour in greased pan. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake 40 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan. |
