CRISPY CHEESE STICKS 
1 3/4 c. unsifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3/4 c. milk
Paprika

With pastry blender, combine first 4 ingredients until mealy. Stir in cheese and enough milk for a soft, but not sticky dough. Turn onto floured board, knead until smooth. Roll pieces of dough between palms to 1/2 inch in diameter and 4 inches long. Bake in an ungreased baking pan at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika. Cool and serve. Yield: 20 to 40 sticks.
