CRISPY CHEESE STICKS | |
1 3/4 c. unsifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/3 c. shortening 1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 3/4 c. milk Paprika Combine flour, baking powder, shortening, and salt until mealy. Stir in cheese and enough milk for a soft but not sticky dough. Turn dough onto a lightly floured board; knead. Roll pieces of dough between palms to 1/2 inch in diameter and 4 inches long. Bake in an ungreased baking pan at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika. Cool and serve. Makes 20 to 24 sticks. |
