BAKED FRENCH BREAKFAST DOUGHNUTS 
5 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar; add egg and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Fill greased muffin tins half full.

Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes. Melt butter. Mix together 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. When muffins are done, remove from tins and roll in melted butter, then in sugar/cinnamon mixture.

Yield: 8 muffins.
