GOOD TOPPING FOR GERMAN
CHOCOLATE CAKE
 
1 c. evaporated milk
1 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. coconut
1 c. pecans

Combine evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter and vanilla in small saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick, about 12 minutes. Cool slightly. Stir in coconut and pecans until thick enough to spread. Frost tops of 2 (8") layers.

I use a store milk chocolate cake mix. Quick and easy for me. You can make it from your favorite scratch or regular German chocolate cake mix.
