CHEWY DATE-NUT BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 c. finely cut pitted dates
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Grease and flour a 9 x 9 inch pan. Beat butter until light. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Stir in flour and mix well. Add dates and nuts. Spread mixture in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and cut into bars. Roll in powdered sugar.
