I called Stella Dora company. They no longer make these cookies for this recipe because they became too costly. So stop looking.

These were the easiest yet appearing very elegant cookies ever! The problem now is you can't find the puff cookies these were made from!!!

Why did you stop producing them??

I wrote to Stella D'oro about the availability of their anginetti cookies a couple of years ago and they replied that when Lance (a brand) bought it from Kraft they did in fact discontinue manufacturing of the anginetti cookies!

They haven't been made since 2009 so people finding them either have very old cookies or they're finding them under the "Lance" label.

I'm in San Francisco and they were a mainstay as much as all of their other cookies growing up in "Little Italy", even the deli sold them!My kids were raised on them and I used the anginetti for every big (and little) occasion, including bridal showers, baby showers and Christenings.

Now I make my own, not a easy though just as good.

Another great substitute, mini cream puffs. They work well just make sure to sweeten the caps.

Here's the cream puff recipe I use and it's amazing:

1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
4 eggs

Instead of using her filling just use the Stella Dora one instead. The Creampuffs taste great! And they'll be a hit at your next party or if you just want to make them and have fun at home.

I called Stella Doro they were bought out by another company and they no longer make these cookies. I told then it's a shame because I always make these cream puffs for parties. I wish there was another way to make them or get this company to start making them
