PORTUGUESE STYLE RICE | |
3 tbsp. butter 1 onion, chopped Pinch of black pepper 1 c. River rice 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. beef broth 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce Heat butter in a saucepan. Add onions and fry over moderate heat for 3 minutes. Add the rice and stir until it begins to brown. Add beef broth, tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered over low heat for 20 minutes without stirring until the rice is tender and all the liquid has been absorbed. |
