ROUND STEAK WITH ONIONS | |
2 lbs. round steak 5 lg. onions, sliced 1 green pepper, cut into strips, if desired 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. ketchup Cut meat into serving pieces. Pound with mallet to tenderize. Salt and pepper to taste. Dredge in flour. Fry on high and then reduce heat; remove when meat has been browned. Drain off excess oil. In a Teflon coated saucepan, layer meat, onions, (green pepper), meat, onions, (green pepper), etc. until ingredients are used up. Combine ketchup and water and pour over the top. Simmer on low on stove for 1 1/2 hours or until done. You can also bake the meat in the oven in a casserole dish at about 325 degrees. Serve with baked potatoes and a salad. |
