BROOK'S IRISH BROWN SODA BREAD | |
10 oz. wheatenmeal 6 oz. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. bread soda 1/2 pt. buttermilk Method: Sieve white flour, soda and salt into a bowl. Add wheaten flour, mix together. Make a hole in the center, add buttermilk. Mix to a loose dough with a wooden spoon. Turn on to a floured board. Knead until the side next to the board is smooth. Turn the smooth side up and flatten out. Cut a cross on top and lay on a greased tin and bake at 400 degrees for 3/4 hour. Cool on a wire tray. Enjoy with butter or your favorite homemade jam. |
