CHEESEBURGER PIE | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. bread crumbs 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/4 c. chopped onion 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1/2 c. chili sauce 1 egg 2 c. grated cheese 1/4 c. milk 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Brown meat and drain. Stir 1 teaspoon salt, oregano, pepper, crumbs, 1/2 tomato sauce, onion and green pepper. Turn into pastry-lined plate. Beat egg and milk; stir in salt, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and cheese. Spread cheese mixture over meat. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Mix remaining tomato sauce and chili sauce. Heat and serve over pie. (Use all tomato sauce in pie if you don't use the sauce on top.) |
