ROSY APPLE WHIRLS 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. Crisco
1 egg and milk to make 2/3 c.

FILLING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1/3 c. cinnamon candies

Combine the sugar, water and candies. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Pour into a 12x8x2 inch pan reserving 1/2 cup for topping.

Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in Crisco until it resembles meal. Break 1 egg into cup, add enough milk to measure 2/3 cup. Beat with a fork. Add to dry ingredients all at once. Stir until dough clings together.

Knead and roll out to a 12 inch square. Spread with 1 tablespoon melted butter and cover with the diced apples. Roll as for jelly roll. Cut into 8 - 1 1/2 inch slices and place on cinnamon syrup. Bake in 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. Spoon reserved syrup over biscuits and continue to bake 10-15 minutes until brown. Serve warm with cream.
