GOBS 
FILLING:

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. shortening
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter

Combine flour and milk. Mix until smooth. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and leaves sides of pan. Remove from heat; cool. Add shortening, powdered sugar, vanilla and butter. Cream well and refrigerate until cookies are cool.

COOKIES:

2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water
4 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Add buttermilk, vanilla and boiling water. Mix well. Combine sifted flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt and add to creamed mixture. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Cool and put 1 tablespoon filling between 2 cookies. Wrap separately and keep refrigerated. May also freeze.
