SNICKERDOODLES COOKIES 
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Sift dry ingredients together. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Mix well. Chill. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes until lightly brown but still soft. Tops will be crinkled.
