4 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1 tbsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts or raisins or dates
7 c. flour or more

Roll and let stand overnight. Slice thin and bake in moderate oven.
