ICE BOX COOKIES 
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. pecan meats
2 tbsp. cinnamon
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Sift flour, salt, cream of tartar and soda. Mix well with first mixture. Add nuts and vanilla. Roll. Wrap in waxed paper and chill. Slice thinly and bake in moderate. 375 degree, oven until slightly brown.
