BRUNA BONER (Swedish Brown
Beans)
 
2 c. Swedish brown beans
5 c. water
1 stick cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar

Wash and drain beans. Add water and let soak overnight. Add cinnamon and salt and cover. Simmer for two hours or until beans are tender. Stir in sugar, vinegar and cook 15 minutes longer. (Thicken with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch mixed with a little water.)
