APPLES AND CREAM PIE 
3/4 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped
4 med. cooking apples, peeled, cored & quartered
1 unbaked 9" pie crust
1 c. whipping cream
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place apples in bottom of pie crust. Mix remaining ingredients (except walnuts) thoroughly. Pour over apple slices. Sprinkle top with walnuts. Bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees; reduce heat to 350 degrees. Continue baking until apples are tender, 35 to 40 minutes longer.
