PARTY SHRIMP CANAPE
10 slices white bread
2 tsp. butter
1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. frozen, shelled, deveined shrimp, cooked and minced
1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
1/3 c. mayonnaise
1/4 tsp. salt
Fresh dill for garnish
Radish slices for garnish
Parsley sprigs for garnish
Capers for garnish

About 40 minutes before serving: Preheat broiler. Cut crusts from bread slices. With 2 inch round fluted cookie cutter, cut some circles from bread slices. Cut remaining bread into 1 1/2 inch triangles and 2x1 inch pieces. In blender, blend bread trimmings to make 1/2 cup crumbs.

In 1-quart saucepan, melt butter with thyme. With pastry brush, brush cutouts with butter mixture. Place on cookie sheet, broil 2 minutes or until golden brown.

Mix shrimp, bread crumbs, cheese, mayonnaise, and salt. Spread some on each cutout. Broil canapes at 450 degrees for 10 minutes or until hot. Garnish with dill, radish slices, parsley or capers. Makes 20 capers.

Do Ahead: Early in day, prepare as above. Cover and refrigerate. About 20 minutes before serving, broil and garnish as above.

Thanks cooks.com for recipe. It's very tasty and easy to make. Instead of cut out from bread slices, I bought white bread dough frozen, thaw in canape mold and bake for 15 minute at 375°F and slice 1/2 inches.
