RAISIN SAUCE 
3/4 c. seedless raisins
4 whole cloves
1 c. water
1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tbsp. butter
Dash of pepper

Combine raisins, cloves and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; lower heat and simmer until raisins are soft. Remove cloves. Mix sugar and cornstarch with vinegar to form a paste. Stir into raisin mixture. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add butter and pepper. Serve hot raisin sauce with ham. Makes 1 1/4 cups.
