3 c. sugar 3/4 c. butter 2/3 c. evaporated milk 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate pieces 1 (7 oz.) jar marshmallow creme 1/2 c. nuts 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (3 1/2 oz.) can flaked coconut or 1 c. chopped nuts Combine sugar, milk and butter in heavy 3 quart saucepan. Bring to full boil, stirring constantly. Continue boiling 5 minutes over medium heat or until candy thermometer reaches 234 degrees, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Remove from heat, stir in chocolate pieces until melted. Add marshmallow creme, coconut, nuts and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Pour into greased 13"x9" baking pan. Cool at room temperature, cut into squares. Makes 3 pounds. |
