LEMON POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
6 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. lemon extract

Grease and flour tube pan. Combine Crisco, sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together and add alternately with buttermilk. Add lemon extract and beat well. Pour into tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
