CREME DE MENTHE SQUARES 
FIRST LAYER:

1 c. sugar
1 stick butter
3 lg. eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
Dash salt
1 (16 oz.) can chocolate syrup

SECOND LAYER:

2 c. Confectioners sugar
1 stick butter
2 tbsp. creme de menthe

THIRD LAYER:

6 oz. chocolate bits
6 tbsp. butter

Combine sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla; beat until creamy. Add flour, salt and syrup. Pour into 9 x 13 greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool. Beat together second layer ingredients and spread over cooled cake. Refrigerate then melt together the chocolate bits and butter. Cool slightly and pour over the top and spread to cover creme mixture. Refrigerate to harden before cutting.
