GINGER SNAPS 
6 tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 c. dark molasses
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
1/8 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and add sugar gradually. Blend in the beaten eggs. Add molasses and vinegar and mix well. Sift together the flour, soda, ginger, and salt and add to the first mixture a little at a time.

Shape into small balls. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake in a moderate (350 degree) oven for 10-12 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
