GINGER SNAPS 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. butter flavor
1 c. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. ginger
3 1/2 c. flour

Mix like given. Can chill but not necessary. Roll into balls and dip in sugar. Flatten a little. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
