Pecan Sand Tarts

I lost my mother's recipe for sand tarts, so I had to find a replacement. This is an excellent recipe--better than my mother's original! The texture of the cookies is very light and smooth. I have tasted others that were heavy with a dough-like consistency, but these are light (and addictive). I have received many compliments on these cookies and they will always be a favorite holiday, special occasion treat. It's not Christmas without sand tarts! Thank you for the excellent recipe.
