1 c. sour cream
1 c. mayonnaise
1 env. Italian or Buttermilk salad dressing mix
1 (10 oz.) pkg. chopped spinach, well drained
1 c. (8 oz.) water chestnuts, chopped
1/2 c. chopped red pepper (opt.)

Blend sour cream, mayonnaise and salad dressing mix. Stir in remaining ingredients. Chill. Serve with crackers or chips.
