JAN'S CREAMY DREAMY PROTEIN SMOOTHIE (WITH VARIATIONS) | |
There are many types of protein powders out there. I have tried many, and the Unjury seems to be the best tasting, and provides you with added protein, though it can be omitted in any smoothie. 2 cups frozen strawberries (whole or sliced, unsweetened) 1 cup vanilla soy milk 2 scoops protein powder (strawberry sorbet, or vanilla) 1 frozen banana 2 tsp. Splenda (or your favorite sugar substitute) Place frozen fruit in blender. Blend until slushy. Add soy milk, Splenda and protein powder. Mix until well blended. Depending on the blender you are using, you may have to scrape the sides. Note: I use the Ninja kitchen system blender, and it is amazing. I use it for just about everything from drinks to salsa and guacamole). Makes 2 servings. VARIATIONS: • Chocolate Cherry: Substitute vanilla soy milk for the chocolate flavor; Substitute vanilla/strawberry protein powder for chocolate protein powder; Substitute strawberries and banana for 2 cups frozen pitted dark cherries. • Peachy Banana: Substitute the frozen strawberry for frozen peach slices. • Frozen Mocha: Substitute the frozen strawberries for frozen coffee (take 2 cups of strong coffee from your morning coffee. Pour into ice cube trays and freeze); Add 1 teaspoon instant coffee to make it stronger if desired. Submitted by: Jan |
