HOME BAKED BEANS 
1 lb. Great Northern beans
1 c. bean broth
1 c. brown sugar
Sliced salt pork or bacon
1 lg. onion
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 c. tomato juice
Salt to taste

Cook beans until skins crack. Drain, save broth. Slice onion into bean pot or casserole. Add beans and salt. Mix broth, sugar, mustard and tomato juice. Pour over beans, add tomato juice to cover, if needed. Top with pork or bacon, bake in 350 degree oven until done, 2-3 hours.
