HOMEMADE BREAD | |
3 1/2 c. warm water (100-110 degrees) 2 pkgs. yeast, reg. or rapid-rise 1/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 3 tbsp. oil or shortening 10 c. flour Dissolve yeast in water. Stir in sugar, salt and oil. Add flour, 1-2 cups at a time. Let rise until doubled. Knead down, put into 3 bread pans already sprayed with cooking baking spray. Let rise again to full size. Bake at 400 degrees (375 degrees for glass pans) for 40 minutes. To make wheat or rye bread, substitute no more than 2-3 cups of wheat or rye flour. |
