TOP OF STOVE OATMEAL COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. quick Quaker oats
1 c. shredded coconut or chopped nuts

Combine butter, sugar, cocoa and milk in heavy saucepan. Cook for exactly 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in oatmeal, coconut and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonful onto wax paper. It will thicken as it cools.
