TURTLE CAKE 
1 box German chocolate cake mix (or Devils Food)
1/2 c. milk
14 oz. caramel candy squares
1/2 stick butter, melted
6 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Mix cake as directed on box. Pour half of batter into greased and floured 13 X 9 pan.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.

In a saucepan over low heat, melt together 1/2 cup milk, butter and caramels. Pour melted caramels over cake. Sprinkle with nuts and chocolate chips. Pour remaining cake batter on top.

Bake at 250°F for 20 minutes; then at 350°F for 10 minutes.

Cool, cut into squares. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
