SOUR CREAM COFFEECAKE 
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter, softened
8 oz. sour cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
6 oz. chocolate chips

TOPPING:

1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture. Fold in chocolate chips. Put half of batter into 9x9x2 inch pan and sprinkle with half of the topping. Repeat. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.

We had this recipe when I was a little girl. My mother made it on special holiday mornings, now we do the same!
