LASAGNA CASSEROLE 
MEAT SAUCE:

1 lb. Italian sausage
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp. whole basil
1 tsp. salt
1 (32 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste

Brown meat slowly, spoon off fat. Add remaining ingredients, simmer uncovered for 1 hour. Stir often.

CHEESE FILLING:

3 c. Ricotta cheese
1/2 c. grated Parmesan
2 tbsp. parsley, chopped
2 beaten eggs
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Mix together.

1 lb. lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced thin

Put 1/2 cup sauce in bottom of baking dish. Then place a layer of noodles over it. Spread with 1/2 of cheese filling, cover with 1/2 of Mozzarella cheese and 1/2 of meat sauce. Repeat layers. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting. Serves 12.
