QUICK GRAIN OF WHEAT BREAD | |
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour 1/2 c. wheat germ 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. buttermilk 2 tbsp. oil 1/4 c. honey 1. Stir together all of the dry ingredients in a big bowl. 2. Blend the liquid ingredients together, then pour them into the bowl also and stir well. 3. Grease well a loaf pan. Pour the batter into the pan, scraping the bowl. Bake the bread at 325 degrees for 1 hour, or until a toothpick stuck into the middle comes out clean. 4. When it cools down a little, take it out of the pan by turning it upside down into your hand. Put it on a cutting board and see who will help you eat it. It tastes yummy spread with peanut butter and apple butter. (One delicious loaf.) |
