1 (18.25 oz.) box Devil's Food cake mix
1 (15 oz.) can pure pumpkin

Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix the two ingredients together in a bowl. Don't add anything else that may be mentioned on the box, such as eggs, oil, or water. The mixture will be very thick, so you might be tempted to add in other things to make the batter smoother. Do NOT do this! Just keep on stirring until completely mixed.

Transfer batter to a 9-inch cake pan sprayed with nonstick spray, and smooth out the top with a spatula or the back of a spoon. Place pan in the oven, and bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool, and then cut into 12 slices.

Makes 12 servings.
