“RED VELVET CAKE & CREAM CHEESE FROSTING” IS IN:

RED VELVET CAKE & CREAM CHEESE
FROSTING
 
Goes well with ice cream, custard or instant pudding, etc.

1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. red food coloring
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa
2 large eggs

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix all ingredients with an electric mixer. Grease and flour or spray non-stick cooking spray in two 9-inch cake rounds. Pour Batter equally in rounds.

Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, Cook on wire rack for 10 minutes.

FROSTING:

1/3 lb. butter, softened
10 oz. cream cheese (at room temperature)
16 oz. confectioners' sugar

Combine ingredients until fluffy. Frost cake and chill 1 hour before serving.
