RED VELVET CAKE, COOKED FROSTING 
1/4 c. flour
1 c. sweet milk
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar

Cook flour and milk to pudding stage stirring constantly until thick. Cool. Cream butter and crisco. Add sugar and beat until creamy. Add cooked pudding slowly and beat until fluffy.

The original recipe does not call for the addition of Crisco. Will try it and see if it stabilizes it.
