SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
2 lb. finely ground beef 4 tbsp. onions, chopped 2 eggs, beaten 2 c. dry bread crumbs 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 2 tsp. brown sugar 4 tbsp. caraway seeds 1/2 c. butter 2 c. beef bouillon 1 1/3 c. milk In a large bowl combine all ingredients except flour, butter and bouillon. Mix well. Use a teaspoon to form balls. In a frying pan, add bouillon to pan. Combine 2 tablespoons flour with 1/3 cup water, add to pan, stirring constantly until thick. Return balls to pan. Cover and cook slowly for 20 minutes. Serve with toothpicks. |
