SAUCY OVEN SPARE RIBS 
4 lb. spare ribs
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. catsup
1 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. celery seeds
1 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
Dash of hot sauce
Parsley (optional)

Cut ribs into serving size pieces. Cook ribs in oil until browned on both sides. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Place spare ribs in a 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan. Combine remaining ingredients, except parsley, in a small saucepan. Stir well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Pour the sauce over ribs. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours or until well done. Uncover and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Garnish with parsley if desired. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
