FRESH APPLE CAKE 
BATTER:

1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 egg
4 med. apples, sliced
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins (opt.)

TOPPING:

1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. melted butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Cream together Crisco, sugar and egg. Add apples. Fold in flour, salt, soda, baking powder, vanilla and raisins. Pour batter into 9"x13" pan (greased lightly). Batter is thick. Mix topping ingredients together. Sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
