CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP 
1 sm. can tomatoes
5 tbsp. butter
5 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. minced onion
1 c. milk
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Put tomatoes, onions, and salt in pan. Boil a few minutes. In another pan, melt butter; add flour, milk, and water. Bring to a boil. Add soda to tomatoes, then combine the 2 mixtures. Serve hot with crackers or cornbread.
