CHOCOLATE SAUCE
200 g (nearly 1 cup) good quality dark chocolate, broken into pieces
1 can condensed milk
250 ml (about 1 cup) cream

Add all the ingredients to a microwave-proof dish. Microwave on high for a few minutes, mixing the sauce every minute with a whisk; the longer you microwave the sauce, the thicker it will get, as the condensed milk cooks.

While it is still hot, pour it over vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!

The sauce may be cooled and reheated. Every time you reheat it, it will thicken even more. Always use dark chocolate, because the cream and condensed milk reduces the chocolate flavour.

Variations: Replace the plain dark chocolate with mint flavoured dark chocolate (not the chocolate with the mint pieces in, as it will harden). Replace the plain dark chocolate with caramel or white chocolate. For something more decadent, replace half the cream with the same amount of whiskey or brandy or cherry liqueur (this one is definitely not for the kiddies party).

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
